Functional Health & Safety Strategic Program
Ingenium’s Functional Health & Safety Strategic program is designed to support our clients create and renew their functional health & safety strategy plans to achieve an accident-free workplace, ensure no harm to people, and continuously reduce the environmental impact of business activities.
This includes a comprehensive Health and Safety climate and culture assessment aimed at enhancing health & safety leadership capacity within leadership and supervision teams. The assessment addresses observed shortfalls in current health and safety practices. From this, strategic objectives are consolidated and translated into strategic projects. Implementation follows, focused on creating quick-wins and long-term programs. Developing this critical functional strategic platform follows a co-creation approach with our clients where Ingenium consultants steward the process throughout all phases.
Components of the Functional Health & Safety Strategic Program
A transformative shift in health & safety performance, leadership behavior, and organizational culture, leading to sustainable health & safety excellence.
Phase 1: Health & Safety Culture & Climate Assessment
Assessment of a client’s health & safety culture through surveys & Interviews with selected groups to identify:
- 1) The ‘Current’ versus ‘Desired’ states of culture through our Gravity quantitative survey; and
- 2) Develop a qualitative assessment of the ‘Artifacts, Espoused Values, and Basic Underlying Assumptions’, using proven and insightful frameworks.
Phase 2: Health & Safety Strategy Workshop
Presentation of feedback, qualitatively & quantitatively, with data and information for discussion and generation of an agreed ‘Functional Health & Safety Strategic Plan,’ including objectives, goals, projects and an implementation plan. Incudes full data base of Ingenium models, processes, tools, HSE procedures and Safety Leadership training course modules to draw from, where required.
Phase 3: Implementation of the Strategy
Delivery of a Functional Health & Safety Strategic Plan across the organisation, founded in Human Performance in Safety, and delivered through a structured program of strategic projects with agreed action plans.
The objective of the program is to thoroughly assess and enhance the Health and Safety culture across the energy services sector by evaluating key areas such as leadership commitment, employee engagement and involvement, risk management, training, incident reporting, safety communication, safety climate, regulatory compliance, and human-machinery interaction. The ultimate goal is to enhance health and safety leadership culture, reduce risks, eliminate incidents, and embed new, proactive, robust, and engaging health & safety initiatives.
